The website for the Harris County Community Services Department (HC CSD) provides information about a wide variety of social support programs available to residents of Harris County. Primarily, the programs are designed to facilitate access to affordable housing and transportation, while also expanding opportunities for social connection and community enrichment. The HC CSD and its affiliated websites “uplift communities and…deliver programs aimed at assisting with rent, mortgage, and utility costs.” Additional programs are available for Harris County residents who are experiencing (or are at risk of experiencing) homelessness, those in need of disaster recovery resources, immigrants, and veterans. Some programs of particular interest are highlighted.

September 20, 2022, is National Voter Registration Day. This is a massive cross-country effort to register voters ahead of the midterm elections. The Harris County Robert W. Hainsworth Law Library is proud to be a National Voter Registration Day partner. On September 20, the Law Library will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for voter registration. If you can’t make it that day, our librarians are available to assist with voter registration services during regular operating hours, Monday – Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding Harris County holidays.
As a reminder, the last day to register to vote in the 2022 mid-term elections is Tuesday, October
