The team from Lawyerist.com has developed a model to help small firm lawyers create a more client-centric and future-oriented practice, one that provides these lawyers the opportunity to have a work-life balance while still effectively serving the needs of their clients. The resulting model is set out in The Small Firm Roadmap: A Survival Guide to the Future of Your Law Practice. The first part of the book examines current practices and the traditional law firm model that are more focused on the lawyer’s role as an elite professional rather than as a provider of legal services. In addition to these topics, the lawyers discuss technology and how it can be used to the firm’s advantage, the creation of a budget and financial strategy, and the building of a team and a healthy work environment. All of these things can add up to a thriving law firm that has its clients and staff at its heart.
