In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Texas has made available a Motion and Order for Use of Emergency Procedures. These forms, which will eventually be incorporated into the Family Law Practice Manual as Forms 8-81 and 8-82, can be used to ask the court to allow the procedures specified and the relief requested in the motion during the pendency of the state of emergency. Example requests include modifying or suspending certain deadlines, allowing remote participation in proceedings, and considering as evidence sworn statements made out of court. The motion and order can be downloaded in PDF and Word formats from the TexasBarBooks website. A link to the forms can also be found on the website of the State Bar of Texas.
Keep in mind that if you need additional forms from any of the State Bar of Texas Practice Manuals or other documents from our digital resources , visit the Harris County Law Library Virtual Reference Desk for more information. Our law librarians are here to help!
