Program Description: The speaker will cover aspects of drafting and editing documents in Microsoft Word to meet the basic needs of attorneys.  More complex items such as creating a Table of Contents, a Table of Authorities, and hyperlinks are included.  As well as, formatting the document for successful e-filing.  Several minutes at the end of the class will be devoted to practical application of the skills covered.  This presentation is being offered in a hybrid format (attendance is available both in-person and virtual).  However, the most benefit will be received by in-person attendance. Due to ongoing public health concerns, Harris County has extended the “Stay Home Work Safe” Order and the Law Library’s physical location is closed to all through April 30.

Program Description: This session highlights legal drafting techniques using tools available in the most widely-available word processing software, Microsoft Word. Key topics will include efile formatting, legal citations, tables of authorities, tables of contents, and indexes along with  fonts, styles, headers and footers, and page and paragraph numbering.
