Forms

Legal forms, while a necessary part of the legal process, can be a source of confusion for some self-represented litigants. Their understanding, or misunderstanding, of the legal form probably arises from a misconception that the legal form is the same thing as an application, a simple, fill-in-the-blank document that is submitted to the court.

Fortunately, there are plenty of legal forms that have been designed with the self-represented litigant in mind. However, simple forms do not exist for every situation, so it is possible that self-represented litigants will have to use the templates that attorneys generally follow and draft their own legal documents.
