Program Description: Embark on your journey into the world of legal research with this introductory course on the Lexis+ Research platform.  Perfect for beginners, this training will guide you through the essentials of locating vital sources and retrieving crucial documents with ease.  You'll learn the basics of searching, gain a foundational understanding of Terms and Connectors, and explore the initial steps of case and statute searches; and get acquainted with Shepard’s cite checking to ensure your references are accurate. 

This class will focus on the basic functionality available via the Lexis+ Research experience, including, but not limited to:

  • Locating sources

  • Retrieving Single Documents

  • Basic searching and an overview of terms & connectors

  • Searching cases and statutes

  • Cite checking with Shepard’s
