Disability Pride Month is observed every July to commemorate the passing of the Americans with Disabilities Act in July of 1990. The first Disability Pride Day, or Disability Independence Day, recognized every July 26 on the anniversary of the signing of the ADA, was held in Boston in the fall of 1990.
